The guy I purchased the 65 Bus from kindly replaced the 15 year old tires that were on it. He was not planning on replacing the spare though, so he left it in his garage when he went to get the tires. Turns out the rear driver tire was the spare, and the one in the garage is the real tire. He brought the new one back and put it in the back of the Bus for me so I could get it changed. I drove for about 12 hours over the next 2 days getting back to school, then I cruised around town a few times. After waiting at Les Schwabs for 2 hours to get it changed I saw what the old tire looked like. Yeesh!
Unfortunately the guy working at Les Schwab couldn’t tell me anything about what he was doing. Literally he did not know what he was doing, he just mimiced others… The tire sat a bit sideways when he was done, and he did not know why. I assumed because of the suspension and that it would level out after driving it. I asked someone else to make sure and I was correct.
