It has begun

February 1, 2009

Tonight Jeff Nicol and I got together in the NNU prayer chapel to start our fast.

We picked up some bread at Albertsons to break bread and symbolically start the fast. Ironically we chose pita bread, which contains no yeast. That was not thought out at all either.

In the prayer chapel we discussed what this week means to us and prayed for each other. We will be studying the book of Galatians, and also focusing on the impure sexual thoughts and actions we have, what God’s desire is for that, and how we put it into practice.

I have to say that I am very excited to be doing this. I have fasted before, but usually for some other cause, such as the 30 hour famine, and that also happens to be the longest fast I have ever done. This time is different. This time it is two guys who love God so intensely that we are willing to be a bit radical and toss ourselves completely into God’s hands for a week. Watch this blog, because I will be posting daily updates. The Bible says not to go around flaunting your fast, and I will no be doing that. I am going to use this week, and this blog, to share what God is sharing with me. It should be interesting. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see what He will do!
