Tuesday in Mexico

July 17, 2013

Ok ok! I know this post is a few hours late. Miguel and I were debugging an issue until 1am and I just did not feel like writing a post with my eyes mostly closed and feeling pretty fuzzy…

I was pushed off the high dive into the deep end of the pool today. We worked on upgrading some stats and integrating a heartbeat functionality into Jetpack today. George gave us some fancy new updates to post to stats while Miguel and I worked on the heartbeat. It was a fun and crazy ride on my first trip down the rabbit hole.

I learned how to interact more fully with the development flow of the team, and got smacked a couple times for continually hinting that moving to Git would be a good move for us :). The mighty horse head came out and chased me around.

We were all focused so much on our projects that we forgot to eat! Dinner did not happen until 9pm. Our waiter was an odd guy who never understood our order the first time around and took three times as long to get our food and beverages to us. Luckily the food was pretty good though! The tvs at the restaurant were tuned into some 1980s music videos. Boy has hair come a long way for the better since then!

I even ate a cactus!

And for your eyeball pleasure here is a dump of the rest of the photos I took:

Glad you tried the cactus (nopalitos), I love them!

Hmm. Getting adventurous with your palate, I see. You will have to let us know what the cactus was like. Have a good day and work hard. Enjoy!
