I am starting this post from my iPhone while on the first leg of my trip to Mexico!

I joined the great crew at Automattic a couple weeks ago. For those of you who do not know Automattic is a fully distributed company. This means employees are spread all across the globe. This provides for a fun and dynamic work environment as it allows employees to work anytime from anywhere. Though I have been building relationships online for years this sort of work style can make it difficult to build good strong report with your coworkers. To alleviate this Automattic has each team get together a couple times a year and the company as a whole at least once. I am on the newly formed Jetpack team and this is the first official team meetup. I am very excited to have joined a group of such talented and acomplished individuals. It is my goal to post daily updates so stay tuned.

Finally met my team in real life. Great people! We descended upon the house we are staying at and chatted it up over beers for a couple hours and then went to dinner.
