I asked a question that changed my life forever

q2On December 20th, 2014 I asked Alixandra to be my wife.Nearly eight months ago Alix sent me a smile on the online dating site eHarmony. I had not been on the site in over a year and had received other pokes that I ignored but for some reason I decided to logon and check this girl out and boy am I glad I did! At the time I was doing a lot of traveling for work and we emailed each other for about a month. It was magical. I anxiously refreshed my email every few minutes hoping that Alix would respond. The girl on the other side of the internet seemed too good to be true. We scheduled a time to meet a couple days after I returned home and I was really nervous. I desperately hoped and prayed that the girl I was about to meet in person was even remotely close to the girl I had been writing to. Our first date we met with our dogs at a dog park on Lake Washington. Alix blew me away! She was even better in person than in the emails. We walked with our dogs around the park for a while and when we made our way back to the cars the dogs hopped in and passed out in their respective backseats. We both stared at them wondering why they were so tired, after all all we did was walk, then I looked at the clock and realized we had been walking together for nine hours! Wowee!!! I knew then and there that this was going to be the woman I married.

The next few months were like a whirlwind of magic. I have never met someone who gets me and I click with so well. Alix truly is my other half. Before Alix I thought I had a pretty good life and was fully satisfied, now I cannot imagine why I ever thought life without her was ok. A lot happened in that time that tested our devotion to each other and showed how we would support each other in hard times, including Alix grandmother passing away and me traveling twice overseas for over a month combined. Through it all our relationship continued to grow and become stronger. Alix is a real woman in the truest sense of the word. My woman.

IMG_1595Beyond a doubt Alixandra is the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. I am excited for our future together. I am excited for the adventures we will have over the years. I am excited for the ups and downs and the strength and closeness in our relationship that comes from each of them. I am excited to join my family with hers and have a new mom in my life. I am excited about being excited.

Alixandra I love you with my whole heart and it is entirely yours to have forever. I promise to be the man you need and a godly leader in our home. Thank you for loving me back and honoring me with the sacredness of your heart and your future. Thank you for loving me even with all my goofy ideas and always being open for an adventure together. I am looking forward to a full life with you and our 60th wedding anniversary together with friends and family. I love you dear heart!
