This morning Yelena, Kim, Hannah, Judy, and I were sent to the Solid Rock church. The kids there were amazing! We sang and played games and danced and told stories for hours. Yelena brought along some face paint and the kids loved it.

Behind the church is a large colony of white ants. Before church Teacher Agnes had harvested some of the ants and cooked then up as a snack…and of course I had to try them. The ladies declined. The ants were not bad tasting. The texture, for the most part, was chewy and the flavor kind of sweet. The weirdest part was the legs. They were still on the ant and I could feel them in my throat. Could it replace chips as “the snack”? I doubt it, but if we have time to head to another village I would not me amiss to eating them again.
