Thursday at the Fortress

November 7, 2013

It is getting pretty close to the end here in Puerto Rico for the Jetpack crew. We split the day in half again to finish projects. I had my portion completed so I spent some time catching up on my hundreds of unread emails ( Plugin Plug: Look to your right, see that fancy new widget that tracks my inbox count? Pretty awesome! ), did a few personal things, and watched part of a movie.

This afternoon we went out to a cool fortress that was on a point ( I do not remember the name. Richard will probably fill it in in the comments 😉 ). The fortress overlooks the entrance to the bay area and has played a key role in history in controlling access to the Caribbean sea area. Spain controlled it for a long time and the United States eventually manage to wrest control. It was neat, and huge. I noted with interest the various layers of it that had been built up over time. It would be interesting to have been able to take time lapse photography and learn how they built such a massive and impressive structure back in the day. Here are some photos for your enjoyment.

And tomorrow, sailing!

Great shot of the mojito! I tried several times to get a good pic but just didn’t happen with my phone.
